The Tjindu Foundation has launched today as South Australia’s leading, purpose-developed not-for-profit delivering education, and cultural engagement programs for Aboriginal children and young people.
What does Tjindu mean?
Tjindu is a powerful word in many Aboriginal languages within South Australia and it guides our mission as a foundation.

How we help tomorrow’s leaders and work with corporate, government and not-for-profits to grow their awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture in society and the workplace

For many Aboriginal language groups in SA, Tjindu ( pronounced Jin-Doo ) is the word for the sun, or sunshine.
As our name, Tjindu encapsulates our foundation’s purpose to create opportunities for Aboriginal children and young people to develop their own bright futures.
